REMIND EVERYONE TO GO VOTE IN THE MID-TERMS!!!! Our votes carry more weight in the mid-terms because of the low turnouts.
I just moved to small city in Louisiana. I registered to vote, which required that I FIRST get a certified copy of my birth certificate. I got registered, and rec'd my registration card.
I looked up online the "voter portal" and Sec of State election info and such...I SIGNED UP TO RECEIVE EMAIL REMINDERS OF ELECTIONS. I looked up dates of upcoming elections, but failed to put them on my calendar.
I got an email reminder of an October 14th mid-term election one day before...2 state constitution amendments, and a State Treasurer election.
I drove there & voted for the Democrat as Treasurer, and the 2 amendments.
THE TURNOUT FOR THE ELECTION WAS VERY VERY LOW! So every vote counted even more. In Louisiana, a red state who last time voted in a Democratic Party Governor, the DEMOCRAT is in a decent lead to win the State Treasurer job (replacing a Republican); however, there will likely be a runoff in early November.
REMIND EVERYONE TO GO VOTE IN THE MID-TERMS!!!! Our votes matter even more in the mid-terms.
