Anybody else catch him reminiscing about how this country used to supposedly hold women, religion, and morality as sacred...implying that we no longer do?!... implying that all the progress made for women in the past generation has served to undermine them?

(4,483 posts)As in "don't sully your delicate fingers trying to do a man's job?" This paternalistic shit really skeeves me. I think *men* are sacred--how about that? And shouldn't come down from their pedestals to mess in the workplace, politics, anywhere where they could make a difference? Why is it that *men* get to decide who's "sacred?" This 19th century fantasy of the Angel of the Hearth was used to keep women out of positions of power for decades. We were supposed to be the guardians of morality but without any authority to, oh, I don't know--keep men from abusing us? And I'm wondering if he thinks *all* women are sacred, or just the white ones? Most domestic workers are women of color--are they "sacred," too? How can he bear to see them doing all that hard physical labor?
Burn in hell, Kelly.

(1,788 posts)We exist to give birth to the next generation of men. He does not see us as full human beings. He can stick the whole "sacred" bullshit up his sexist ass.

(19,192 posts)All of those "wonderful" things he was reminiscing about were actually chains to keep people down, in their "place". Most of the "wonderful" things he misses were destroyed by people like the guy he works for. Does he think for one second Trump holds those things dear to his heart? DONALD TRUMP DOESN'T HAVE A HEART! Jebus, Trump is willing to destroy the world in order to get "one up" on some equally narcissistic dipshit in North Korea.

(2,093 posts)I suppose it's possible that Kelly will be revealed in the history books that he lied, degraded himself, and tossed his credibility aside in order to remain close to Trump to prevent him from launching a first strike nuclear attack.... but I doubt it.
I think he's just a racist, sexist pig. He serves Trump because they're two of a kind.
The saddest thing about this whole nightmare, really starting back when Obama won, and they just couldn't accept it, and growing since then, is how truly awful so many Americans are. I mean, you know that some of your neighbors and co-workers are kind of dicks, but you assume that they're mostly decent, deep down. But, no. There's a whole lot of Americans that aren't decent deep down, or at all, really.
