FEMA just called me.

I had submitted a voucher to recoup something if possible. Lost fences, roof is still leaking, lost food, etc., due to Irma. I did this on the advice of my sister who let me know they were helping. I figured I was dropped because my needs, unlike those people in PR and the USVI, were not at all dire.

The agent will be here tomorrow. I don't know whether to be happy or pissed off.

That he would get nothing. 12 foot under. Lost a lot f stuff and just got electricity last week. They may come out, but I do not think FEMA is sit up for that. I was under the impression, like you, more life and death kinda thing.

On the one hand. On the other, he is a Fox new watching zombie and I refuse to discuss politics. So when he is going on and on, it is very hard to hold back telling him there is like 11 billion saved for just this in Texas but the governor refuses to use it because Houston, liberal. Or when he complains about FEMA, yet now expecting the help here and now, in a major disaster. Not how it works.

you were dumber? Damn!

My first thought was/is, is this for real? I'm still gobsmacked my needs might be addressed when there are so many more people who need help.

I had an agent who was most insistent I take something from him, after a hurricane in 1995. The house I had been renting got smushed by trees.
I finally asked for 500.00 which I used for a down payment to buy a small house here.
the guy was real insistent, felt duty bound to get all his paperwork in order, etc.
thing was, I never even put in a claim. He heard about me after speaking to my landlady, I had no idea about it.

Apparently our government has gone thru some serious changes.
