California Republicans have bickered for years over what direction to turn – towards the political center or to the right.

Bannon also argued that the coalition that sent Trump to the White House, including conservatives, libertarians, populists, economic nationalists, evangelicals, could hold power for decades if they stay unified.

“If you have the wisdom, the strength, the tenacity, to hold that coalition together, we will govern for 50 to 75 years,” he said.

Most of the state’s governors in the 20th century were Republicans and state voters helped elevate a string of GOP presidential candidates to the White House. But the party’s fortunes started to erode in the late 1990s after a series of measures targeting immigrants, which alienated growing segments of the state’s population.

Sorry Herr Bannon, but a changing society and demographics means the only way Republicans can keep majorities is if they cheat at elections, through gerrymandering and voter suppression. If we had properly drawn districts and made voting easier, not harder, they wouldn't stand a chance in most states after 4 years.

The American people are by and large, middle of the road, but on most social issues, they tend to the left.

Your days are numbered, you fascist fuckhead.

get such importance? He was not elected. Who put him into a position of power at the WH? Someone behind the scenes is working hard to change this country, and not for the better. Unfortunately, they picked a totally unqualified, ignorant LOSER when they put tRump into office. People are finally seeing what is happening, and are not happy. Can not polish an orange turd, they are finding out the hard way.
