Progressives will win when we give up on hoping party will change and just change itToday's Topic:
Progressive spend too much time complaining about the bad deeds of the Democratic Party. The party has been behaving in this manner for decades and will not change with status quo techniques. We just need to get busy and work the grassroots and knock it down from below.

(6,288 posts)Progressives had some bad deeds of their own, so until they address their own shortcomings the room for pointing fingers at the other is moot.

(11,175 posts)Usually, when I see a post that says Trump is awful and Democrats must be united to oppose him, the plea for unity is just a ploy for advantage in intra-party disagreements.
You're being more honest about it than most.
For my part, my prescription for Democratic victories begins with recognizing that there are disagreements among those who oppose Trump and the right-wing agenda. I even go beyond that to take the radical position that, on many of these issues, reasonable people can disagree with me. This leads to my prescription: fairness and mutual respect. Telling other members of our coalition to "shut the fuck up" is harmful to our cause.
