DNC now will restrict some corporate donations............

..........if their 'areas of interest' come into conflict with stated DNC values. From MSN: DNC creates new restrictions for corporate donations:

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Saturday passed a resolution banning donations from corporate contributors whose areas of interest come into conflict with the DNC's stated values.

The resolution, which was introduced by California member Christine Pelosi, passed unanimously. Pelosi is the daughter of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Pelosi has introduced similar resolutions before that were shot down over concerns over which industries the measures would target.

The move was celebrated on Twitter by progressive members of the Democratic Party who have been pushing to reduce corporate influence in the party.

An online petition started by Pelosi indicates that the resolution was designed to target "gun, tobacco, payday lender, and other corporate donations counter to our values."

The resolution's strength in the DNC is unclear. Hours after the resolution passed, Pelosi warned that DNC officials were whispering that the vote is not legally binding, allowing DNC Chair Tom Perez to ignore it. Pelosi issued a call on her Twitter account, challenging Perez to uphold the vote of DNC members.

Tobacco, guns, payday lenders among PACs to be shunned

Proposal opposed by those who say Democrats need the money

“The American people are looking to Democrats to promote people-powered politics in this era of resistance, revival, and reform,” reads the measure, authored by California DNC member Christine Pelosi, daughter of House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and a long-time advocate for reducing the corporate and lobbyist influence on the party. The DNC, she said, should “walk our talk.”

As the Democratic nominee in 2008, Barack Obama put in place a complete ban on the DNC accepting donations from lobbyists and corporate PACs. DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz ended that policy in early 2016 as the committee determined it needed money from those sources so it would “have the resources and infrastructure in place to best support whoever emerges as our eventual nominee,” a spokesman said at the time. Hillary Clinton hadn’t yet become the party’s nominee, but it was seen as the approach she favored on corporate money.

RNC outpaces DNC in September fundraising

The Republican National Committee (RNC) outraised the Democratic National Committee (DNC) by more than $6 million last month, according to federal filings.

Recently released numbers show the DNC raised around $4 million during the month of September, while the RNC raised about $10 million.

The data also showed that the RNC has roughly $44 million in cash on hand, while the DNC has roughly $7 million.

The RNC reports having no debt, while the DNC has $3.7 million in debt.

I remember the energy in 2008 to get Obama elected. We need to replicate it more aggressively next month and in 2018. Adopt a new Voter, help them get Id’s and registered. Follow up and help them get to the polls. We need to expand our energy.

I would be more than willing to help someone get a copy of their birth certificate, take them to the dmv and pay for their Id and then to the county office to get registered. Take them to early voting or drive them to the polls. If all of us did that we could crush the rethugs. That’s as just as good as sending donations to the DNC.
