A new Quinnipiac poll in New Jersey finds Phil Murphy (D) with a huge lead over Kim Guadagno (R) in the race for governor, 57% to 37%.
Said pollster Peter Brown: Politics is a team game. Guadagnos GOP teammates President Trump, with a 33% job approval rating, and Gov. Chris Christie, with his 15% approval rating are clearly pulling her down.

(15,543 posts)...and tar every republican opponent with the oozing, stinking, degenerate True Fact that their opponent is in fact a < gack > republican.
Run on the issues, of course, but make it explicit in every statement that if voters elect Mr. or Ms. XXXXX (R), they are going to get a shitload more of reeking, grifting, fear-wanking, fascist-creeping republican royalty, Inc, -- as opposed to honesty, dignity, honor, and respect that are key ideals of American democracy.

(100,060 posts)Doesn't matter if it's a comptroller position or it's the mayor of your city, city council, school board, or even senator or governor. Get out there and run! The GOP are able to do the most damage at the local level. That's how they bring it to the national level.
And the scary thing is that many of these positions that I'm talking about go unopposed in many elections - especially city councils, mayors and school boards. If we don't run, they win.
