Three more actresses have spoken out against Harvey Weinstein, joining the long line of more than 50 women who have accused the disgraced movie mogul of sexual assault and harassment.
Annabella Sciorra, Daryl Hannah and Ellen Barkin spoke to The New Yorker in a new exposé, released on Friday, about their harrowing encounters with Weinstein.
Sciorra, who relistened to a 2015 recording of her and Weinstein, revealed that she struggled to speak about Weinstein for more than twenty years but friend and former The View co-host Rosie Perez encouraged her to come forward.
I was so scared, she said about recounting one specific night during the 1990s when the Oscar-winning producer allegedly barged into her apartment after dropping her off.

(12,485 posts)As I read Sciorra's account of the rape I felt that if I was her I would have told the journalist "I carry a handgun now so that if Weinstein should ever come near me I would kill him."
I understand that may be an arrest-able offense just making the threat, even if she does not have a gun, but to me it would feel so good just to say it and strike fear in Weinstein's conscience forever making him look over his shoulder.

He needs to be criminally charged, though with his $$$$, it would be really hard to secure a conviction. A better route may be to sue him civilly, even though this POS belongs in a jail.
What a sad commentary on our society that women are unable to get justice.

(63,221 posts)I am so sorry for these women who have had to live for years with this hanging over their heads. Who have had to live with the fear and the threats to their livelihoods. The shame and abuse from those who want to hold them responsible for their own victimization.
I only hope that something good will come out of this and that women from every industry will start to come out of the woodwork and put these predators in their place. I hope their lives and livelihoods are destroyed just like the women they victimized and I hope that they end up in prison, although I know that is a long-shot.
