6. I don't think they can, although if self-insured they do have some info. Also, it's not hard

to figure out the employees who are really sick and costing the company plan a lot of money. Some employers accept that as part of doing business. Others are greedy jerks who would get rid of high health cost employees if they can.

I imagine this has something to do with women's health care - abortion, contraception, child birth, insurance coverage?

Managers could have access to my health information because I'm insured there, but it's still illegal due to HIPAA. Every single EMR (chart) has an "audit" function. If you can prove another employee entered your chart w/o your written permission, it's grounds for immediate dismissal and that includes managers.
