they were a little reticent last night because it was a single source. But they were on it immediately, starting with Chris Hayes, then on to Rachel and beyond.

They are the only one who had the source.

Quite frankly, you really don’t want news about grand jury proceedings or sealed filings. In order for CNN to know such things, someone committed a a serious offense.

If my client was indicted by a leaky grand jury, or a leaky prosecutors office, I’d be all over that.

but a defendant could leak it. Why they'd want to I don't know, but they could.

If the indictment is sealed, the defendant should not know. That’s something of the point.

and told to prepare themselves for the perp walk on Monday? My understanding of sealed indictments is that they can be sealed pending arrest (to keep the perp from fleeing), or pending notification. Couldn't it be that the indictee has been notified and made to surrender his passport?

If there are various counts of conspiracy to commit, they only have to be concerned about one indictee not voluntarily coming in.

defendent or not, as long as it pertained only to their own testimony. It could be that the Grand Jury itself inadvertently gave hints to something coming.

And if a grand juror is leaking, that can harm the validity of the process.
