I've been watching Fox News a bit this weekend and that is what has convinced me, Donald Trump will fire Mueller very soon.
I am telling you that you would not believe the shit being promoted there, and of course, by all the other Republican Propagandists as well. Way, way, way more crazed and rabid than they usually are.
It runs like this...
The Clintons and the DNC paid the Kremlin for the Steele dossier. Robert Mueller was appointed Special Prosecutor solely because of the Steele dossier. Since we now know that the Clintons and the DNC colluded with Russia to produce the Steele dossier Robert Mueller must be fired (because the Steele dossier is the only reason he was hired in the first place). And a new special prosecutor must be hired forthwith to investigate the Democrat collusion with Russia via the Steele dossier and the Uranium One Deal, where the Clinton's gave all our Uranium away to Russia.
Folks, I shit you not.
It must be seen to be believed.
All this is not just mentioned in passing by a guest here and there. This message essentially has been their entire broadcast, on a 48 hour repeat.
Now I am well aware of the number of fucking out right lies involved here. That the Steele dossier was originally a Republican funded deal, and that it was compiled by former British MI-6 agent Christopher Steele (not the Kremlin), and that it perfectly fine and normal oppositional research. I am also up on the Uranium One deal. I know that it's a sadly pathetic smear job.
I get all that. We all do.
But what I see is how in a desperate, sadly pathetic, last ditch effort to end Mueller's investigation.
I am convinced Donald Trump will fire, or attempt to fire Robert Mueller very soon.

(63,200 posts)However, in our current environment, it would simply amount to Trump saying "Yes, it's all true," followed my Mitch McConnell grabbing a microphone and declaring that "the American people are more concerned about putting food on their tables than in entertaining some witch hunt engineered by Democrats. We will remain focused on delivering tax breaks to the American people to grow the economy and to increase our prosperity."
And then the media would quickly remind us that Harvey Weinstein donated heavily to Democratic candidates over the years, with a Right-leaning panel discussing Weinstein's impact on Hillary Clinton.

(5,491 posts)The Republicans wont impeach Trump. He can do virtually anything, and theyll still support him. They follow him blindly, not caring about whats best for America. All that matters is winning.
Even if Mueller has direct evidence against Trump, it wont matter. Trump will just fire him and openly obstruct Justice. Hell fire anyone else who has a problem with that too. The Republicans will support this 100%.

(39,343 posts)If he's already filing charges, Mueller's already done a ton more work than the media knows about and firing him would trigger an avalanche of information and indictments. It would be impossible for repukes to sit by and let him remain in office. trump would only be hastening his downfall.
Bring it, chicken hawk. Reap the whirlwind you have sown.

(15,543 posts)the KGOP republicans are pissing and shiting all over truth and American democracy. For this they will be long remembered as moral and ethical turds floating near the bottom of history's cesspool of disgrace.

(50,261 posts)He's been working the New York state AG and prosecutors along with everyone else. Dear Leader can't be sure someone isn't going to be indicted on a state charge. If he fires Mueller, he's risking the biggest shit storm ever (the biggest, most tremendous, the very best, believe me) and it could all be for nothing.

Their base eats it up but the rest of us live in the reality-based community and know that if trump tries to fire Mueller he'll be admitting his guilt and an attempted firing won't stop the process Mueller has put in motion.
Mueller has probably set up automatic trip wires that will be triggered in anticipation of trump trying to fire him and pardon all the other traitors.
trump is boxed in. Mueller is no dummy to be trifled with.

(32,079 posts)Just look at social media. The cult is all over it claiming that Mueller is dirty, and parroting everything Hannity and the other propagandists spew. It's actually pretty hilarious on one level. If a Democrat's name pops into their addled brain, they claim that person is involved in this "Uranium One" bullshit. Many of them actually believe Hillary might be the one to get indicted by Mueller. It's pretty pathetic.
No doubt Mueller set up "trip wires." That's why he brought in lawyers for the State of New York onto his team. There will likely be a bunch of state charges, and the Dotard cannot pardon anyone for those.

(51,129 posts)The Russian media has nothing on Fox news when it comes to mind control.
Their viewers have all gone to the party store to stock up for Hillary's arrest tomorrow.

(41,832 posts)Rosenstein won't do it and if he said no, Trump would have to appoint someone new. Too much like the Nixon era.
This is the reason the right-wing spin machine is putting it out that Mueller should resign.
It's too politically dangerous to fire him

(51,129 posts)Trump would have to overthrow the government to stop it from doing what it does.
What the propaganda does is assure that the base remains loyal in the face of the impending indictments and criminal charges. It presets their thinking and provides a rationalization for remaining loyal, but it does not alter reality.
Don't allow the bullshiter-in-chief to bullshit you, you'll become a bullshitter if you do.
