Remember the "Swift Boaters"?

They took the military record of George W Bush, who had gone AWOL while stationed at a National Guard unit in Alabama, and made him a hero.

And they took the record of John Kerry, with at least 3 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star from Vietnam, and made him a traitor.

The same tactic is being used again with the "Russian collusion" charge by Trump and the Republicans.

The strategy of Karl Rove and Bush campaign was to attack the strengths of their opponent.

want to throw up when I think of what that group of "veterans" did to John Kerry.

They should be charged with treason!

Wait, didn't someone recently say we should NEVER question the military?

They took a great charitable foundation and lied that it was "corrupt". She left State w a 66% approval rating so then they lied about Benghazi.

This swiftboating is still going on today. As you say, it is Rove 101 and there are lots of GOP noise-makers who paid close attention to Prof Rove.

Everybody knows that teachers don't make a lot and work long hours
But when it was in the repugs interest that people think teachers make huge salaries and only work part time they were easily able to convince many that this is the case
People are too gullible

The public clearly knows no better and few people have the time or inclination to go suss out the facts on their own. The Fourth Estate is grossly derelict here.

The press corps has a constitutional role as the public 'watchdog', to promote government transparency, accountability, and public scrutiny of our government. The media has a solemn duty to inform the public when political officials try to inflict their failed policies on us, and when they are corrupt, lying and trying to use misinformation to deceive us.

7. Calling these assholes "deplorable" is putting it lightly.

I have far more harsher words for them but the decor prohibits me from listing them here. What they did to Kerry was truly despicable.
