White House chief of staff calls for special counsel to probe Democrats

(Reuters) - White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said on Monday a special counsel should be appointed to investigate Democrats over a uranium deal during the Obama administration and a dossier compiled on Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.

"I think probably as a layman looking at this kind of thing we need to find someone who is very, very objective who can get to the bottom of these accusations," Kelly said in an interview on Fox News.

Some Republicans have said Hillary Clinton's State Department approved the deal after her husband's charitable foundation Republicans in Congress last week launched an investigation into an Obama-era deal in which a Russian company bought a Canadian firm that owned some 20 percent of U.S. uranium supplies.

Some Republicans have said Hillary Clinton's State Department approved the deal after her husband's charitable foundation received a $145 million donation. The New York Times has reported that Clinton, a Democrat who lost to Republican Trump in the 2016 election, did not participate in the decision. a $145 million donation. What chioices does the man have ?

What chojces did McMaster have when he spouted Trumpian gobbedlygook ?

If your'e a white hat, are there good choices ? To serve a monster in an attempt to protect your nation from the worst instincts of the monster, you end up eroding the confidence of a nation.

Only time will tell who Kelly is really in service to. I personally have no frickin' idea.

of self delusion, of personal corruption and dishonesty, of knowledge and experience, and of the kind of bad judgment that arises from those.

All these men are different, and Kelly's general reputation suggested a real level of competence that these behaviors are belying. He has done a lot of what he came in for, just a couple that fascist whisperers Gorka and Bannon are out, and others, are out. We know some competence is real, that his ability to direct Trump is severely limited, and control nonexistent. But morally, ethically, intellectually he's looking like an empty suit.

It's always shocking to me, no matter how often, to realize that people who live big lives with great power and range of experience can still turn out to also be as petty and stupid as the mean spirited, abysmally ignorant neighbor you never want to get into conversation with twice.

flaws and crimes against our nation of people fighting for very wrong things -- for mostly no bigger reason than because it's what "people like me" are doing.

Such a pathetically paltry substitute for intellect, morals, and even religious precepts that it makes those who'd be doing it for money seem like they're operating on a higher level.

Reminds me, last night someone quoted a past Texas politician something to the effect that if "you think they're bad you should see their constituents."
