Former Trump adviser: Papadopoulos was a "coffee boy"

Former Trump campaign adviser Michael Caputo says George Papadopoulos had a limited role with the campaign.

"I never heard of Papadopoulos. He never showed up at Trump Tower, never had any interaction with any of the campaign leaders around me," he said on CNN's New Day. "He was the coffee boy."

So, what was Papadopoulos' role?

Trump called him an "excellent guy" who was an "energy and oil consultant" in an interview with The Washington Post last year.

Press secretary Sarah Sanders yesterday cast Papadopoulos as nothing more than a campaign volunteer on Monday.

The fact that Papadopoulos was unpaid puts him in line with many on Trump's campaign and in no way a gauges his stature in the operation.

According to previous reporting, Manafort, Gates, Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner and senior strategist Steve Bannon were all unpaid "volunteers" while doing extensive, high-level work for the campaign.

He brought the coffee, and then sat down and had a cup with the "foreign policy team".
