Climate change, evolution, slavery, nazis...you name it, Republicans want to "Teech teh contraversi!!1!"
Combating that nonsense should be a talking point for every Dem who goes on the air, and every Dem in Congress. Time to go on the attack, Democrats. And, while you're at it, combat the "liberal media" mantra that has dominated the last several decades. That mantra has been highly effective and incredibly damaging.

(10,721 posts)But, through the years, I'm consistently frustrated by the absence of a consistent, forceful message. Instead, Dems are on the defensive when it comes to the "liberal media" charge, rather than pointing out over and over again that media has become increasingly consolidated into the hands of a few giant corporations. Dems are on the defensive against absurd claims about widespread voter fraud instead of raising holy hell over race-based voter suppression. And so on.
The reason Republicans repeat, repeat, repeat is because it's effective. Very effective.

(10,721 posts)Time to go on offense instead of always being on the defensive...while wondering how it can be that Republicans have the White House, the US House, the US Senate, a majority of governorships and a majority of state legislatures.
Enough already.

(27,742 posts)As a current example, there was a clearly bogus banner at a protest last night at Columbia U, the idiots all fell for it because they want to believe the shit.
The leaders of those "movements" including trump know they are dealing with stupid people that want to believe and they take advantage of it.
