have done so long, long ago. I cannot imagine he hasn't had his entire staff and legal team try to find him a legal route to do so. Shitstain would have fired him long ago, if he was able.

Only the Executive Branch may hire or terminate a Special Prosecutor


Since 1978 neither the Legislative nor Judicial Branches have any power regarding Special Prosecutors. All power rests solely in the Executive Branch.

Since 1978 only Attorneys General, or Acting Attorneys General, have hired a or terminated Special Prosecutors.

Nobody really knows what would happen if a POTUS would fire one. Because there is no Legislation on Special Prosecutors. None. Not since 1999.

Its why whenever this situation is brought up the answer is always, "Well it would cause a Constitutional Crisis".

It would be a Constitutional Crisis because the Constitution can offer no answer to this problem
