Once again, Republicans prove themselves unable to govern.

They talk a good game but they don't walk the talk.

They speak in platitudes about freedom, opportunity, free enterprise, etc. But, when they are in power, they are lost. They are weakened by their unrealistic promises to their supporters.

Their basic philosophy is that "government is bad". It takes too much of your money. Republicans want to give it back to you in the form of tax cuts. And usually, that is to the very wealthiest in our country.

But, they tend to neglect the rest of government. They have never shown themselves to be sympathetic to the needs of the very poor or those that might need help from government. Many believe they are wasting their money on programs for people that are not like them.

They are very good at opposing government and government programs. By default, government does not operate very well under Republicans. They do not adhere to the concept that we are all in this together. They are a "I got mine" Party.

It is unfortunate that they are able to persuade so many people to follow their obsolete and harmful "conservative" philosophy. They are not "conservatives'. They are simply incompetent.
