Congrats Obama...YOU DID IT!!

Unemployment levels are back to the same as December 2000. Who was still President then before we nearly had the second Great Depression eight years later? Let's see where were at a year from now AFTER the shit gibbons tax cut for the rich.

We MISS your leadership and personality!!!

Every time I think about Obama and what a great human being he was, how ethical and upright his tenure as president was, I get misty eyed.

...when the policies of these morons are ballooning the deficit, they will, once again, without shame or irony, blame it on the Democratic president trying to fix it all...

sure, there will be short term growth as businesses get excited for tax cuts. But that will come to a crash as they completely decimate consumer demand. Republicans often forget that the US has a consumer economy and that consumer demand is the only thing driving us.

Their tax plan significantly increases the tax burden on the middle class by eliminating popular deductions to pay for their business tax cuts.

Other tRumpian effects are going to damage the economy soon: softwood lumber tariffs affect new housing starts, NAFTA debacle unsettling business, rising deficits at same time as rising interest rates, travel industry down, etc.

If Trump dumps NAFTA as is looking more likely due to the insertion of numerous poison pill demands into the negotiations, then that will be a huge blow to trade with 34 states largest trading partner Canada and most of the rests largest trading partner Mexico. That in turn will hit the economy very hard.

The tax cuts will put more money into the pockets of the super wealthy, who will then start buying their own islands or 3rd, 4th or 5th homes. There will be no investment in American businesses or American jobs. We've already seen this with the Reagan era, the rich get even richer and everyone else is f*cked.

Besides that - it WILL break our economy and the one-percenters don't care.

he is being criticized for leaving the Democratic Party in debt and disarray? Donna Brazille go to hell. And Bernie lovers let’s face facts. I have listened to Bernie for 10 years but had he gotten the nomination he would have been surgically dismembered by the right wing media crackheads and labeled a “Socialist”. 95% of the public has no idea what socialism means. Nor do they know that a great deal of their lives are affected by socialism. We need more socialism. I remind everyone of my idiot republican friends how much socialism affects their everyday life. When it snows they demand the roads be cleared by our government. They depend on police protection, good schools, clean water, safe food, trash collection, clean air, roads and highways to get to their business, which of course they built on their own. They litigate disputes in courts run by government. I can go on and on how our government (socialism to R’s) is all around us. Republicans and Tea-Baggers want to live free of socialism and government interference. I say go to Somalia where the guy with the biggest gun wins. We know that these cowardly lions in the GOP are nothing but gutless lemmings. Sorry I got off subject, but the point is Bernie is not a Democrat. He has some great ideas but he would have been crushed in the general election. Most of the American public is not savvy or smart enough to understand Bernie. He would have been labeled a communist and eviscerated. I wish it was different, but with the likes of Fox, Hannity, Limbaugh etc. Bernie would not have had a chance. Dems need his voice in a constructive manner, not as a candidate. America is not ready for a Bernie Presidency, regrettably. And Obama did enough. I don’t want to hear about how he left the Dems in debt or how Hillary took over the party. Dems shut up. Let’s sit back and shut up and enjoy the shit show that is Trump.

People are employed and living in poverty. For the adults in families of four to be eligible for medicaid here, their annual income must be 18% of poverty or less. That is less than $5,000. You can talk about jobs all you want. What would really help is to make poverty and unemployment here a little easier to manage.
