Ten months of REAL disaster coming out of the WH and Congress on a daily basis doesnt seem enough for the media. They are desperate for a story about the Ds that they can weave into their usual false equivalencies. Ms Brazille has provided them with just such a story. And even though the story falls apart on its face, well, they will run with it for as long as they can.
Its a little like sports teams. There are crappy teams (the Rs, the Cleveland Browns) that are so bad in everything they do that the occasional right thing being done (Bob Corker dissing tRump, winning a single game last year) sticks out like a sore thumb. And there are good teams (the Ds, the NE Patriots) who are on the right side of history (and are, therefore, ultimately the winners) whose occasional misstep also sticks out like a sore thumb when viewed against their normal good team ways.
The only problem is that its easier for the media to focus on and obsess about a single misstep than to deal with multiple disastrous missteps. Its easier to constantly refer back to the lazy characterizations that exist for political parties and personalities than to recognize actual changes to the status quo.
Thats why youll soon be hearing the talking heads quoting Will Rogers famed quote about what it means to be a member of the disorganized D Party, while continuing to recite the well, geez, hes not a normal politician excuse for every new offense perpetrated by tRump.
Theyre lazy, and its Friday. Time to dust off the tried-and-true (tired and untrue?) bullshit and recycle it yet again.

(25,111 posts)falsify. They helped t-rump to stay in the limelight. They did the same thing during the election pointing out how bad Dems were. Media did not investigate and therefore GOPs were able to "rig" the elections.
Dems for the win!

(675 posts)It might just be some people are hyper focused on this story in the typical Dem hangouts online which might make it seem more widespread than it actually is. It will likely die down in a day or so.

(82,849 posts)A nontroversy about events from 15 months ago, displacing all discussion of Trump's imminent trip to Asia which could set off war; Sessions' dissembling and lying under oath; the prospect of further indictments coming down courtesy of the special counsel; Republicans' ridiculous stab at tax reform; and CHIP expiring 31 days ago, children due to expire en masse any day now. These are just a few of the catastrophic and constitutional crises hanging over the nation right this minute.
But by all means, let's get gossiping about irrelevancies from last year. It's what the kewl kidz will be doing this weekend!
