Friday's missile test follows the release of a statement Wednesday, in which the North Korean state news agency KCNA threatened the "four islands of the (Japanese) archipelago should be sunken into the sea by the nuclear bomb of Juche," referring to the ruling ideology of North Korea.

(30,481 posts)Read the quote from their news agency above. NK has threatened Japan. NK has shot missiles over Japan. Does a declaration of war matter? Specially considering all of the declarations that come from the NK government.

(16,914 posts)i feel Japan is NOT unstable and NK IS unstable also i feel tRump IS unstable so i guess i'm more concerned about tRUMPS recommendation. and what idiot over in NK will do, if Japan does what tRump wants them to do?

(30,481 posts)It's why Trumps recommendation is insignificant to anyone outside of American voters. Japan will do what Japan wants to do. Not what Trump wants them to do.
I would have no issue if Japan shot down a missile going over their territory. I wouldn't consider it to be an action of Trumps.

(16,914 posts)i'd have no issue with Japan shooting it down BUT i do have concern of the final result of not knowing what the UNSTABLE man in NK will do? It's definitely Japans call. lot of uncertainty tho

(37,748 posts)I see zero evidence suggesting Abe would take any military suggestion from Trump as a rational course of action.
And, as Japan has witnessed two similar incursions into their airspace by North Korea since 1998 without war being declared, I'd guess Abe will react rationally, and simply lodge the appropriate protests to the appropriate governing bodies.
