Something very odd about Trump's "speech" at the Japanese state dinner

He was talking about how after the election but before he was sworn in, it wasn't proper form for him to meet with foreign government and leaders but he did so anyways (the specific reference here being his meeting with PM Abe). He talked about that for about a couple of minutes.

Trump is an easy tell and likes to try to excuse away stories in advance.

So by raising the issue at the dinner with Japan in the context of Japan, is he trying to excuse away certain members of his transition team (namely Flynn and Jared) speaking with Russian officials?

Does he already know the story that's going to break soon?

Everything is about him and preserving him and protecting him and benefiting him. There’s nothing more there, no deeper motive than himself.

For example, the reason he’s suddenly talking about a “see through” border fence is that everyone around him had to impart through his thick head that a 30 foot high solid uninterrupted wall from the Gulf to the Pacific was absolute unrealistic.

So eventually he gave up arguing with everyone on the wall and instead started to pretend that a smaller wall with breaks was his idea from the get go.

He’s incredibly easy to explain.

It’s pretty obvious that this Flynn-foreign advisors thing is what he and his lawyers were talking about earlier. It’s obvious because A) he can’t keep his mouth shut and B) just cannot resist dropping what he thinks are subtle hints. Plus C, they’re scared shitless right now so what else are they going to talk about?
