Maybe it’s not THE stupidest thing he ever said (so many to choose from), but it’s the one that really sticks in my craw. The whining, the self-pity, the victim-status claimed (sniff) the weirdly inverted point to claim “historical” status over (treated the worst???).

And that idiotic “great surety” claim, in light of obvious facts: JFK, McKinley, Garfield and Lincoln, as they were assassinated while in office, clearly had it worst. Barack Obama was treated with overt racism, repeatedly, and a Republican congress that swore to make him a one-term president (didn’t happen, Mitch). Lincoln had to deal with a horrific civil war brought on by most of the country’s slave-states, that chose not only to secede, but also to make war on the Union.

In addition, tRump laid this poor, pitiful victim speech on a Coast Guard commencement. The man is a major embarrassment, not to mention an existential threat to democracy in the United States.

To see if he ever speaks the truth, or is honest, or deals with actual facts. But to date, *everything* that issues from his mouth is an exaggeration, or a myth, or a rumor, or an out-and-out lie. Even with trivial issues, he never wanders into the truth. It’s a weird form of “anti-genius,” but it’s also genuinely paranoid:
-Obama bugged his phones. Not true.
-He claims he’s donated X dollars to Y cause, but in EVERY instance he has not, resulting (sometimes) in a speedy check written AFTER it’s pointed out that he welched.
-He says his administration is “running like a fine-tuned machine,” when the abundant chaos and criminal investigations indicate otherwise.
-Per The NY Times, “He said something untrue, in public, every day for the first 40 days of his presidency.“
-Says the GOP plan he supports is "the biggest tax cut in U.S. history." It’s not.

On and on it goes. That #45 hangs onto a 33-36% approval means that a third of the country doesn’t know or doesn’t care, even though he’s clearly a pathological, serial liar who may be so delusional that he might actually believe these whoppers. Either way, America loses.

And though more revealing than just dumb - I also liked the “No puppet... not a puppet. You’re the puppet” at one of the GE debates after Hilary said he was a Russian puppet. I laughed at the time about how desperately juvenile it sounded. Of course, now we know.
