The logic today about mass murder says we can't ban trucks.

That's absolutely true, but that's the big difference between trucks and assault rifles, and those on the NRA payroll have to power to end public ownership of the latter. Tomorrow morning.

I'm a lifetime gun owner and I like guns, but I can still enjoy them without looking like I'm invading a third world island.

The NRA will literally make it about anything else - race, sex, gender, orientation, mental illness, relative dying, pet dying, depression, economic status, you name it. The real issue is how easy it is for anybody in America to get a gun, and how the NRA has half of Congress in its' back pocket.

People in Canada have easy access to guns, but they don't mow down classrooms and church congregations. It's us. We kill people, and we can make it harder to do.

Having said that, I'd like to see an end to private ownership of high powered semi-automatic weapons with high capacity magazines. AKA assault rifles.
