BOP jerked him around endlessly on halfway house placement. He finally got into a halfway house. Then exactly 30 days from his scheduled release date, he was arrested by city police and taken to federal holding facility. "Pending investigation" is the only reason anyone has been given for him being held beyond his release date. Model prisoner, not a black mark on his record, but he has now been held almost a full year beyond his original sentence. Even his lawyer is hitting a wall trying to find out what's going on.

I used to be one of those who thought that the justice system works like I was taught in school, or how it is depicted in the police procedurals on TV. Then I got to see how things REALLY work.

Words fail me. I live in a perpetual rage wishing a violent demise upon anyone who profits from the ruination of other's lives. There's no one to talk to about this; unless you've actually experienced it, you don't get it.
