Like he did obstensibly for Luther Strange in Alabama (but really just for himself).
So if Gillespie loses, will he blame the loss on him and the Virginia GOP for not inviting him down?

Ed Gillespie worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for. Dont forget, Republicans won 4 out of 4 House seats, and with the economy doing record numbers, we will continue to win, even bigger than before!

Trump makes it about himself anyway. But we've seen in the past year or so that when he campaigns with someone, the people that go to see him don't stay for the rest of it and have no interest in who Trump is campaigning there for. They just there to see him, reinforcing the cult. Which in turn makes Trump more of a paper tiger.
