I had to insert my ballot three times before it was finally read.

The ballot was the type that required an oval to be darkened out. It was rejected twice. I took the ballot out and looked for wrinkles or smudges and it looked OK. Ran it through arranged the same way every time. A poll worker saw it but the only advice was to try it again. Made me wonder if that had been happening a lot. This was just a local election, so the stakes weren't real high.

Whatever happened to normal ballots that are then counted? What's with all the gizmos? touch screen this, optical that, blah blah blah. So stupid!
