What percentage of African Americans are Christian?
Is the ridicule of religious beliefs really a message we want to embrace?

11 percent of the electorate was Latino (also a community that is highly religious) and 66 percent voted for Clinton
While not 100 percent of African American or Latino voters are religious, my guess is that they are more religious than the average white Democratic voter.
It's a part of our party's base we cannot alienate.
I might add, a significant portion of the electorate (not distinguishing by race) self-identified as belonging to some religious faith (only 15% indicated "no religion" in exit polls). So pissing on religion isn't all that helpful with a lot of white Democrats as well.

(30,481 posts)We should ridicule many aspects of organized religion. Personally, I think attacking prayer is a little out there and as poorly thought out as those who use it as a stick of ignorance. Still, bigotry and the like should be ridiculed. I don't care as to the color of the person professing it.
The church I go to ridicules numerous aspects of organized religion.
