Three I can think of off the top of my head are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson. Back then men powdered their hair but under that, if you look at younger portraits, they all had naturally had red hair.

I don't think Pence will make it to the White House at all. I think he'll get the boot when Trump does. His hands are dirty, too. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan and McConnell go with them. That would leave us with President Urine Hatch. That's unless this goes down post-2018, where we could wind up with President Pelosi.

Seriously, the Kennedy years, while certainly fraught with perils, were the last real "glory days" America had. Yeah, there was a lot of tumult at the time, but aside from the usual idiots who will bring up Teddy and Chappaquiddick, JFK was a superstar and viewed as real leader the likes of which the country hasn't seen since. Joseph would be a wonderful step in restoring American pride. Although, I think we're so divided now that there really is nobody to the left of Steve Bannon who would please most of the people currently riding the crazy train.

It wasn't completely universal, of course.

But, back then the country valued thoughtfulness and intellect.

Somehow, as we have progressed past that high point, we have slid backward into the populism that celebrates stupidity.

8 years of the "guy you would want to have a beer with" followed by a turn to a guy very much like JFK, leading to blowback that gave us a stammering, jackass meglomaniac.

We need somebody who's willing to drop the gloves and slug it out with the Republican Slime Machine, and he's shown that he's perfectly willing to do that. I think he has everything it takes to not only win, but to be a great President. I hope he runs.

I won't make a final decision as to who I'm whole-heartedly supporting until I know for sure who is running and have had a chance to thoroughly research them, but at this point, Kennedy is my front-runner.

So I hope your gut is right.

Politico

Democrats are in search of new leaders to take on Donald Trump, and Rep. Joe Kennedy could fit the bill. But it's not clear he wants the job.

...snip...

But the key question for Democrats, including the more than two dozen interviewed for this story, is what’s next for the young lawmaker they say is much more than a notable last name. It’s one — to the quiet frustration of several in the party — that Kennedy seems in no hurry to answer.

“Somewhere down the road, if a Senate seat were to open, yeah, it’s something I’d certainly take a look at,” Kennedy said in an interview in his Capitol Hill office. “But that’s got to be right in time for me and my family.”

Many Democrats say Kennedy could easily assume a spot in the party’s leadership ranks, if he wants. Beyond the family legacy, Kennedy is unfailingly polite, whip-smart and well-spoken, admirers say. And he’s young, a coveted commodity as a cadre of septuagenarians are among the party’s 2020 presidential prospects and House leaders.

But unlike the crowded field of ambitious Democrats itching to be the next face of the Democratic Party — making high-profile appearances across the country and poking Trump at every turn — Kennedy can seem too cautious, even borderline boring.

Is there any indication that he's remotely interested? Or is this going to be like folks in 2015 claiming that Elizabeth Warren saying she wasn't running really meant that she wasn't running NOW...?

1 Mike Pence
2 Speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan
3 President pro tempore of the Senate Orrin Hatch
4 Secretary of State Rex Tillerson

Up until recently I would have said that the line stopped at Orrin Hatch. But his dismissal of any and everything Russian makes me wonder. It seems that we may be looking as far down line as number 17 or 18 who are Independents.
