Republicans fail in effort to recall Nevada state Senator Patricia Farley.

Three months after announcing their plans to attempt the ouster of Senator Farley, along with her colleagues Joyce Woodhouse and Nicole Cannizzaro, the GOP and their deep-pocketed right-wing allies were still unable to get the support needed to move forward with a recall election. Senator Farley's seat, and the will of Nevada voters, is safe.
But we're not out of the woods yet. Right now, our team is working to identify every fraudulent signature already filed against Senator Joyce Woodhouse in Nevada's 5th Senate District – the first step in defeating these recalls – and we have just a few days left to do so. Not only that, but next week, Republicans will file signatures in a third recall attempt against Senator Nicole Cannizzaro.
These recall efforts are nothing more than a blatant attempt to steal control of the Nevada Senate and put it back in the hands of the GOP. Republicans are pouring money into this scheme, going so far as to mislead Nevada voters in order to collect the signatures necessary for the recalls. The editor of the Nevada Independent has it right: "This is a subversion of Democracy."
