HOW WORKERS CAN ACCESS DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE

In recent weeks, tens of thousands of workers in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands have found themselves out of a job or unable to get work due to the devastation wrought by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.

Help is available to many of these workers to keep them on their feet in the wake of these disasters.

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA), also referred to as Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance, is a federal program that provides temporary financial assistance to individuals unemployed as a result of a “major disaster” declared by the president.

Please help spread this around to those who might need it. Thank you!
