... Consider the defenses proffered by Moore-ites who don't seem to ultimately care whether the allegations are true. "I would vote for Judge Moore because I wouldn't want to vote for Doug," Alabama Bibb County Republican Chairman Jerry Pow told Daniel Dale, the Toronto Star's Washington correspondent. (Doug is Doug Jones, the Democratic nominee.) "I'm not saying I support what he did." He just not-supports the Democrat more.
When Dale tracked down William Blocker, the chairman of the Covington County GOP, and asked whether he'd support Moore even in the face of hard proof of sexual abuse, his response was as direct: "Yeah!" He added: "There is NO option to support to support (sic) Doug Jones, the Democratic nominee. When you do that, you are supporting the entire Democrat party" ...
