I think one of the many things Bernie didn’t or doesn’t understand, while critiquing Democrats again this week, is that there are 100s of battles being waged and everything doesn’t come down to simple “break up the corporations.” There are cultural wars that over half the population is fighting. You have Racism, Sexism, LGBT rights and on and on. People routinely vote against their economic best interests, well over 85% of Republican voters, in favor of cultural issues.

Educating large elements of the population is as helpful as their willingness to listen to a accented socialist liberal from a Blue state telling them how they’ll be better off. If they’re willing to support a child molester, then they are willing to go along with just about anything, including going against economic self interests, to propagate their cultaral cause/s. Hypocrisy be damned. You can’t educate people who choose to be ignorant (see FR) and dismiss facts. You can only win at the ballot box by hoping to unify enough sane people. Not by cherry picking and nitpicking Someone you agree with 97% of the time. How is it possible to NOT relieve the 2016 election when all the constant shit going on now and rollbacks of all the progressive achievements over the past 50 years are being eliminated because one man was in his feelings. GTFO. Every day I’m reminded of this fucking horror that could have been easily avoided.

With Christian Evangelicals in the South? I sure think so.

For the tenet of these voters is that no matter how grave the sin, the sinner gets their vote because they proclaim Jesus as their Lord and Savior, as they go on sinning even more. They are held captive by these charlatans regardless of the truth.

I wish I could say I’m surprised by this line of thinking. The entire “cheerleaders for Jesus” trance is a hard thing to escape.
