I would think a mistrial would then result in a motion to dismiss, or a new trial with a new jury.

It's been my question, too, if it's Guilty, will it be CHRISPY filling the slot before January? Or the new Dem governor after January 16?

Or, really, will there BE an empty slot - how long before a Guilty verdict & and creating a vacancy? It's not automatic, is it?
