McConnell responds to Bannon targeting him: 'I laughed. Ha ha.'

BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 11/12/17 02:52 PM EST

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon’s pledge to oust him from his leadership position by next year made him laugh.

“You can write that down,” McConnell told The New York Times on Friday. “I laughed. Ha-ha. That’s a perfect response.”

The comment from McConnell comes after Bannon in his own interview with the newspaper said he does not think McConnell will helm his position at this same time in 2018. "It’s not my personal mission, but it is an objective that I — I have an objective that Mitch McConnell will not be majority leader, and I believe will be done before this time next year," Bannon told the Times.

Bannon, who has promised to challenge the Republican establishment in the 2018 midterms and put up primary challengers against GOP senators, called for McConnell’s resignation during a live television interview last week.

Put Bannon's role and influence into perspective. He had an office next to the president. However, now he's the publisher of a moderate-sized website. That's quite a bit lower on the the ladder of influence.

Additionally, Bannon's only tool is to whip up a small percentage of Republican voters to create primary challenges against incumbents. If that's how he's going to change or destroy our government, it seems like he might need a bigger boat.

Bannon is a blowhard. While he does have some influence in the right wing of the right wing of the Republican Party, he doesn't have any power with more than two-thirds of the electorate. In fact, if the MSM ignored him, Breitbart would slither back under that slimy rock covering Andrew's grave.

Like his pal, Trump, Bannon is an idiot.
