Gillibrand Says Bill Clinton Should Have Resigned Over Lewinsky Affair

~snip~

WASHINGTON — Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Democrat of New York, who holds Hillary Clinton’s former seat, said on Thursday that Bill Clinton should have resigned the presidency after his inappropriate relationship with an intern came to light nearly 20 years ago.

Asked directly if she believed Mr. Clinton should have stepped down at the time, Ms. Gillibrand took a long pause and said, “Yes, I think that is the appropriate response.”

But she also appeared to signal that what is currently considered a fireable offense may have been more often overlooked during the Clinton era.

“Things have changed today, and I think under those circumstances there should be a very different reaction,” Ms. Gillibrand said. “And I think in light of this conversation, we should have a very different conversation about President Trump, and a very different conversation about allegations against him.”

It could be, but I’ve never seen anything concrete from a reputable source. If that is true, it was a reprehensible act deserving of prosecution.

By that standard, probably 2/3 of all Washington politicians should have resigned.

Tripp’s phone was wired up like a radio station by right-wing water-carrier Lucianne Goldberg, who also told Tripp that, sure, it’s legal to record phone conversations in without the consent of the other party (it was not).

Total, utter and complete political hit.

Who told Monica to get "DNA" on her dress, then put it unwashed in a ziplock bag to save for evidence. Total political hit.

Republicans, by their very self-righteous nature, completely agree with Machiavelli, that “the end justifies the means.”

It might have saved a lot of women some pain. Not to mention the fact that it might have been good if we had collectively decided that it is unacceptable for a sexual predator to serve as president before the 2016 election.

We can't legislate the past. Today the house passed kill the poor bill, who have millions of guns. Can we deal with this today instead? Safety gonna be a factor when people are hungry, even in those gated communities, assholes. God forbid they make that connection, your out of country assets and your passports might be the only way you keep your family safe.

You wanted this class warfare, it may come true in freedom loving America.

But instead let's worry about what should of, could of happened...

Idiots.

the infamous “presidential kneepads” quote from Lewinsky?

A woman of age, who admitted to stalking him?

Clearly an insanely bad judgment on his part, but an act deserving resignation?

One of the stupidest, most ill-informed bits of inanity this side of Fox or Freeperville

This dunce would do well to educate herself on a subject about which she clearly knows nothing

She could start with Fools for Scandal, and The Hunting of the President, before she further embarrasses herself

What Clinton did was bad, but if she's trying to score points by re litigating shit from the 90s I'm not impressed at all.
