@NewYorker
Take a step back and remember how politically explosive it would have been, a year ago, to know that the Trump campaign was colluding with WikiLeaks.

This Is beyond absurd. Russia-Wikileaks-Trump collusion has been my 10am A and or B block on #AMJoy since at least last July. This story was fully knowable to all who could see past Her Emails.

(63,172 posts)Desperate to avoid the dreaded "Liberal" label, and wholly beholden to their corporate benefactors, NPR takes care not to bite the hand that feeds it by looking too closely at Republican bullshit.
Even the ordinarily excellent On the Media has had a distressingly soft touch about the Trump administration.

(28,795 posts)I just found some real nuggets in there
I quit listening to them, with exceptions like fresh air and radio lab, a long time ago
That horrid show Marketplace, is a particularly good example of how far they skew to the right
Thx for bringing that up....was in a hurry

(63,172 posts)You're right about Marketplace, and I'd add that The 1A is also pretty bad. Their flagship news programs Morning Edition and All Things Considered are where I see the worst examples of coddling the GOP.
Also correct about The NYT and WAPO. Aside from a few outliers and a few bright spots, the media as a whole is complicit, to be sure.

Shitty name.
Shitty dude with an obnoxious attitude. Repeats every question so he can stay relevant, has no interst in anything, just, "we're up against a break."
Luckily I'll never here that phrase again as I just can't stand to listen to him any more.

Here's a good summary of why NPR bends over backwards to be anti-left:

(15,635 posts)I fear the New Yorker opinion piece has some merit -- this Russia thing seems to be getting "normalized" ... like it's no big deal in this day and age for any politic organization to have routine contacts spanning the globe (even though they are frankly treasonous in this case).
Personally, I am deeply concerned that too many Americans are falling prey to this "normalization" and hope that Mueller springs some major indictments including collusion and vote count hacks SOON ... so that the outcome to the Trumpsters is not minimized in any fucking way!

Gee I wonder what their propping up Trump and demonizing Hillary to even out the horse race will cost us in the end?

What's new is the back-door communication, and the explicit awareness that the Turd campaign knew Wikileaks was a Russian cutout.
