What they did went way beyond the bounds of what was allowable in the 1970s and there's no comparison.

Sanford may have lost his family and governorship for abandoning his office and family to run off to another continent to visit his girlfriend, but they gave him a Senate seat. THEY are the ones who stood in judgment of WJC while doing the same or worse themselves. Gingrich was sleeping with his soon-to-be-third wife while he was still married to his second wife (who he fucked while his first wife was sick with cancer). Henry Hyde broke up the marriage of his "youthful indiscretion." Dennis Hastert went to jail for molesting boys.

Of course the smear machine is trying to throw shit on Democrats! The key is to not let them do it. Remind them of the members of their own party have done in the past and what they are doing now. Don't let them wiggle off that hook.
