Election $$ reform might help avoid harassment and corruption

It isn't too hard to imagine that if regular people, i.e., not billionaires, could run for office, with a shortened campaign period, there would be far less opportunity for all of the malfeasance to occur, financial, and otherwise.

This insanity is what we deserve as long as the election industry monster demands regular feeding.

And that includes the media, who reap immense rewards from the uncontrolled advertising.

But this thread will die quickly: It's not sexy enough. Which is ultimately the problem with america: We are all too invested in salacious news scandals and hyperbole.

We get the society we deserve.
