The Koch brothers have won! They are way down the road to privatize the VA with zero, that is a great big round thing meaning nothing, zip, nadda, none, below one, input from Veterans. Get ready vets, you're about to take another one for the GOP.

(12,858 posts)They fought and maybe got wounded.
In return, US people would take care of them as long as necessary.
Now many think soldiers owe service but US people owe nothing in return...but pro forma 'thank you for your service.'
Or T's 'he knew what he signed up for.'
Even with the charge that returning VN soldiers were spit on, etc, no one ever suggested they should not get govt supported VA support and service.

(58,785 posts)waiting for this. It's past time for vets especially to get very angry.
There is a plus side to their finally being about to make their move. Soon vets and families of vets won't have to believe evil people are plotting secretly. It will be news.
Be a bubble-popper.

(629 posts)They never realized before now just how much money they can make if they take over the VA and funnel all that good govment money into their bank accounts and not have to do anything for it. What was that???? What about the veterans????? Bbbbwwwwwaaaaa haaaaaaahaaaaahaaaa

(13,772 posts)It's way cheaper to lobby for a tap in the stream of taxpayer funded revenue than it is to run a competitive business.
It is truly "All about the money" for the well-connected.
And, once they get a contract they have little incentive to perform. Just cuts (services) and take more profit. They would prefer to just get the money without providing anything but so far they still have to provide some services, supposedly.

(3,335 posts)and soldiers and vets not so willing to stand behind Trump as props when he shows up for a photo op with them the next time. Vets, in general, like the VA hospital and want to keep the system because it gives them the opportunity to affiliate with other Vets who they can identify and relate with during their visits. I hope they now know that their Commander in Chief is a fraud and doesn't give a shit about the military except to use them for cover, and legitimacy.
