Conservative commentator Bill Kristol says that President Trump and Senate candidate Roy Moore (R-Ala.) are bringing out his "inner liberal."
In a tweet Tuesday afternoon, the founder and editor-at-large of The Weekly Standard suggests that his his loyalty to the GOP is being tested by Trump and Moore, as well as the Republican Party's tax reform effort.
"The GOP tax bill's bringing out my inner socialist. The sex scandals are bringing out my inner feminist. Donald Trump and Roy Moore are bringing out my inner liberal," Kristol tweeted, adding "WHAT IS HAPPENING?"

His tweet comes as Moore faces mounting accusations of sexual assault from several women who claim Moore pursued them sexually when they were teenagers and he was in his 30s.

(3,335 posts)misinformed, just a plain liar for the rest of your life. That's a good thing. Spread the word to others who are currently as unenlightened as you once were. And remember, once you know the truth, you can't go back.

(6,008 posts)Patriotic Republicans at this point would still claim to be Republicans, and work to change their party from the ground up, but they would be voting for and endorsing Democrats. The Republican party is not going to change until it receives a shock to the system, and it won't get a shock as long as it's in power. If you want your party back, you need to vote it out of office.

(22,976 posts)All these strange bedfellows (Bill Kristol, David Frum, David Jolly, Max Boot, Michael Steele, Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt, et al) have been around long enough to know that whats happening now is a serious threat to our democracy. By their own accounts, one has left the Republican Party (Boot), one now refers to himself as a Bull Moose Republican (Jolly) and the others are at least showing definite signs of moving to the center. All of them despise Trump & Co. and are on record as saying so.
Remember, Elizabeth Warren was once a Republican. Hillary Clinton was once a Goldwater Girl. People can change, especially when everyone is confronted with a common enemy.
