Honest question about Trump supporters....

If Trump and members of his administration are convicted and sentenced to prison, do you guys think the majority of his supporters would still deny any wrong doing by Trump?

I’m talking anchors on Fox News, republican politicians and republican constituents. If this happens, it will confirm that we have a serious issue with political tribalism in this country.

The pundit class and the politicians wanted nothing to do with him - but he still had about 25% support among rank and file voters. The MAGA hat wearers who went to Trump's rallies and yelled "Lock her up!" will go to their graves believing Trump was the Messiah, and it will be an equivalent 25% or so, for whom no facts will make a difference.

I would argue they are not "traitors," because they firmly believe (at least the one's I've argued with) that there's zero evidence Trump colluded with Russia and that the entire investigation was created out of thin air by the "left wing" media and some sort of Clinton cabal, that they think includes not only Hillary Clinton but Robert Mueller and many mainstream republicans. So I think they are deluded, but that the term "traitor" doesn't apply.

They voted for Trump, and don't believe the Russia stories. That makes them patsies, not "Russian assets." Facts are our friends.

I looked it up..about 1 in 4 in spite of the condemning evidence, (and there was/and still is a whole lot) thought he was innocent. And it is going to be the same.......somewhere around that 27 percent will believe in Trump no matter what. or 25 percent..Doesn't matter, cause there will be a sizeable minority that believes he/Trump was railroaded by false evidence. Now..that was 43 years ago. It wasn't tribalism, it was a belief in the president and issues with the media lying about Nixon. No matter what the "truth" is, there are some that believe that the "media" lies all the time, and is out to get their hero...in this Trump...43 years ago...Nixon.
