The hosts of MSNBCs Morning Joe did the usual day-after Thanksgiving kibitzing on the air on Friday morning, telling viewers about their turkey dinners and mentioning the big football game the night before.
One problem: None of those things had actually happened at the time Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Co. started talking about them. The program that aired Friday morning was taped Wednesday, but made to look and sound as if it was airing live.
Morning Joe airs live on MSNBC five days a week. It features discussions of breaking or very recent news events.
Fridays program had all the earmarks of a typical Morning Joe and few viewers seemed to notice that it wasnt happening in real time. MSNBC offered no announcement or statement to viewers that it was a taped program. The only indirect clue was at the bottom of the screen: The Live graphic that normally appears was removed.

(16,104 posts)Very often, in their regular daily 3 hour broadcast, they will repeat at least a portion if not the entire hour previously broadcast that morning.
Again, without any notice from the network or show.
Another reason why "AM Joe" has no credibility on anything.
Why I wait for Stephanie Ruhle's always live "After Joe" show!

(51,584 posts)"This is a special Thanksgiving edition and I am sure you are full of turkey like I am..." and then they re-ran past shows like her interviews with Hillary and Eric Holder.

(5,223 posts)why is the fact that a tv show was pretaped be important? Sounds like a high class problem to me

(5,007 posts)They recorded two shows in one day. They recorded the live show. Then they recorded another one that would air on a different date. They pretended that it was recorded at a different time. I think many shows do that..
