Two Republican senators threaten to vote against GOP tax bill

Two Republican senators, Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), are threatening to vote against the GOP tax reform bill in the Senate Budget Committee on Tuesday unless changes are made to address their concerns.

The lawmakers' primary issues with legislation are different: Corker has concerns about the possible deficit increase if the measure is passed, while Johnson worries the bill does not do enough to help small businesses.

"I'm not exactly sure what's going to happen in committee, we're working diligently to fix the problem. If we develop a fix prior to committee, I'll probably support it but if we don't, I'll vote against it," Johnson told Wisconsin reporters Monday afternoon.

Corker, when asked whether he may vote against the bill in committee, also told reporters that is "very possible." He and several other GOP senators with deficit concerns want the bill to include a "backstop" in the event that economic growth projections aren't met.

At the bottom to find events, phone scripts, and other facts to share. We must spread the word. The timing is crucial and we are almost out of time. Thanks!
Call all of them. All the numbers start with (202)224-****
Corker (TN) 3344
McCain (AZ) 2235
Flake (AZ) 4535
Collins ( ME)2523
Heller (NV)6244
Murkowski (AK)6665
Moran (KS)6521
Johnson(WI)5323
Young (IN)5623

Call them all. If you go to Zillow for the individual STATE you can get a local address and zip to use in case the senator's phone staffer needs validation that you are a voting constituent. It works and they NEVER check. I have done it with over 400 calls in the past year. It literally takes two minutes to Google Zillow. Your phone area code doesn't matter due to cell phones.
