President Jackass Strikes Again.

I’m on the fence as to whether Trump is the worst President of my lifetime (George W. Bush still holds that record, I’d say) but he certainly is the worst human being to hold that office in my lifetime. Today’s outrage finds him making racist cracks while honoring the service of Navajo code talkers.

Trump richly deserves to be remembered as a negative role model for children, much like Goofus of the old ‘Highlights’ comic strip “Goofus and Gallant.”

“Don’t chew your food with your mouth open. That’s Trumplike behavior.”

“Don’t be a mean-spirited bigot. That’s how Trump would act.”

“Don’t play with a live radio in the bathtub. That’s something President Trump would have done.”

Trump may not be the worst president but the worst person to hold the office. I definitely agree he is the worst person by far.

Jackson was an atrocious human being. I get caught up sometimes with how much of a sociopathic racist Trump is that I easily overlook people.

That’s true.

I was only talking about Presidents from my lifetime. Carter was the first President I saw on TV.

There have been other horrible people who have assumed the office.

In my book, if not the worst, he is in the running, with less than 11 months in office.

It’s still early and Trump might manage to take the record for worst President.

It’s a tough bar because George W. Bush was such an atrocious leader - botched a balanced budget bequeathed by many years of prosperity and prudence (we’re still paying a colossal price for his fiscal mismanagement) ; started a major, utterly pointless war at exorbitant cost, tossed America’s reputation out the window by using torture.

But Trump could still end up starting a nuclear conflagration or some such. So who knows?

...that I see, as a teacher, is to the young voters in their teens and early twenties, who are just beginning to form their ideas of what normal is in politics. Trump's antics will be the benchmark that they measure future leaders and future political debates by.

But as to the OP, yes, no question. Bush was a lot worse. You can measure that in blood

It can be tempting to remember Bush as a slightly less awful leader than he really was, because Trump is such an obnoxious human being, but Bush’s Presidency was utterly disastrous. In any other industrialized country, botching a war that badly would have kept a party out of office for fifteen years at least.

If you put a gun to my head I’d rather have Bush as a neighbor, though.

But I'd rather have Trump as a neighbor than Ron Paul. I don't approve of people choking neighbors and breaking their ribs. But I'll bet that shit was provoked

Paul has always seemed weirdly unsavory to me. More than the average Republican, anyway. Not sure why that is - maybe I just don’t trust Paul’s slightly lazy, slightly crazy demeanor.
