Thats yours. Our job is to report the news.
And on Monday, the network dedicated significant airtime to rebuking Trump.
We have thick skin here at CNN, host Anderson Cooper said Monday. We can handle criticism but well damn sure call it out when its a lie.

(3,997 posts)Using the word 'lie" is something they need to constantly use!
But why, oh why did this take so long?

(11,132 posts)I appreciate your feelings about the campaign but, considering what we're up against, we'd be foolish not to welcome all the help we can get.
I watched CNN all last evening. All of the shows hit hard and had their shit together. Don Lemon's show was outfuckingstanding.

(2,145 posts)but where was the calling out of T's lies during the campaign? Why weren't these oh so offended journalists saying something before T got elected? I would like for them to publicly answer that.
But, in resignation to the situation, at least they are finally fighting back. I am sure that T will escalate, so this maybe could prod CNNI into exposing T for what he is.

(26,060 posts)to FINALLY see the press call out the LIES and the LIAR in chief. They usually dance around (misunderstood, misstatement, etc.) that world and seem loathe to use it for a President. I heard it over and over and over last night. They've had enough.

(9,426 posts)Too bad they did not fact check this ass when he ran for the office. Surely they saw what the rest of us saw? A completely unhinged ignoramus vying to be King of the World. Instead they all kow towed to him making him seem "normal" He is a total disaster, not only as president, but as a HUMAN BEING. He has managed to drag this country into the sewer in a matter of months. He had plenty of help from Russia and the gop, of course.

(26,060 posts)everyone - far too many call us coastal elitest snobs and while there is a kernel of truth to that, that doesn't mean we don't know a con man when we see one and donnie is pt barnum reincarnated. He was good for ratings so the entire press corps (written and tv) let him coast to slithering into the oval office.

(37,457 posts)I didn't watch CNN for a long time. Long story short, I got it via Sling a year ago. So, I tuned in. I was a bit impressed that they seemed to be trying to be good journalists. Key word, trying.
So (and I might have totally wasted my time) I wrote an old school letter to Jeff Zucker imploring him to, ok, make money but ALSO to take care of our legitimate information needs. I was totally polite and diplomatic. I hope I didn't waste my time, but I probably did. At least I tried.

"His assault against a free press, a free press that stands up to him, will not stop us or any other legitimate news organization," Cooper said.
"It won't stop my colleagues around the world who put their lives on the line to do their work, to report."
Because the Coward-in-Chief received five draft deferments during the Vietnam War, he's never had to "put his life on the line" the way many reporters do (not just CNN reporters)

(51,567 posts)Well, he was already created (not born since he isn't even human) but they helped him get elected by the eclectoral college by showing an empty podium at a 45 rally anticipating him to speak and increase their ratings. Did they ever go into thr real issues during the campiagn? NOPE!

WTF is wrong with this guy? I think Trump's social skills (and worldview) didn't develop past 5th grade.
