But it appears all of the Republican Party has decided to sue Democrat, instead of Democratic for a reason. I think I remember when they had the argument and made the point, like 5 years ago.

Josephine Bennett, a reporter/host for Georgia Public Broadcasting recently emailed asking about NPR's policy after she heard Seabrook on Morning Edition about the upcoming health care bill.

NPR's policy is to call parties what they call themselves, said Ron Elving, NPR's senior Washington editor. The proper name is the Democratic Party. Democrat is a noun and Democratic is the adjective to describe the party.

"When using democratic or Democratic as an adjective, it should be the adjectival form with 'ic' on the end," said Elving. "We should not refer to Democrat ideas or Democrat votes. Any deviation from that by NPR reporters on air or on line should be corrected."

This should be standard practice by all media

He used to be better too, he didnt do this I bet before the so called teaparty idiots showed up.

The freedumb caucus, if you will.

In fact I bet if you were to look at old speeches of his, this didnt happen until after Obama was elected. I could be wrong, might have happened during Newt actually, now that I think of it.

But it does not come natural to guys like Hatch, he had to hear it and know that he has to say it.

This is all your GOP tax scam. You own it. If you get your members to vote for the piece of shit, it passes and your asshole leader will grin and sign it. And the country will hate you, but you really do not care as long as your donors are happy. Up next, find a way to manipulate the next big public vote.

I've grappled with this and it has pissed me off to no end. But now I just realize how fucking stupid you would have to be to use a noun to describe a noun to try and make someone angry.

Remember they are disabled in that respect.

I did not mean that Conservatives are generally stupid; I meant, that stupid persons are generally Conservative. I believe that to be so obvious and undeniable a fact that I hardly think any hon. Gentleman will question it. John Stuart Mill

His poor childhood forgotten. His lasting legacy will be trying to take healthcare away from tens of millions of Americans, and his drive to cut taxes for his fellow millionaires and billionaires at the expense of the poor and middle class.

Any dream he ever had of using his time in DC to make America a better place is lost forever, replace by his greed and his stunning party over nation philosophy.

is bad English as Democrat is a noun and nouns do not modify nouns. This bullshit was started by Joseph McCarthy as a way to marginalize Democrats. If Hatch aligns with McCarthy he can go fuck himself an the rest of that radical rabid affiliation that tries to pass itself off as a political party when it's nothing more than a toxic death and greed cult.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democrat_Party_(epithet)

The term Democrat Party is an epithet for the Democratic Party of the United States,[3][4][5] used disparagingly by the party's opponents.[6] The following appeared in The New York Times in 1984:

The term 'Democrat Party' has been used in recent years by some right-wing Republicans on the ground that the term used by Democrats implies that they are the only true adherents of democracy.[7]

Language expert Roy Copperud said it was used by Republicans who disliked the implication that Democratic Party implied to listeners that Democrats "are somehow the anointed custodians of the concept of democracy".[8] According to Oxford Dictionaries, the use of Democrat rather than the adjective Democratic

is in keeping with a longstanding tradition among Republicans of dropping the –ic in order to maintain a distinction from the broader, positive associations of the adjective democratic with democracy and egalitarianism.[9]

Political commentator William Safire wrote in 1993 that the Democrat of Democrat Party "does conveniently rhyme with autocrat, plutocrat, and worst of all, bureaucrat".[10] Hendrik Hertzberg writes in The New Yorker:

There’s no great mystery about the motives behind this deliberate misnaming. 'Democrat Party' is a slur, or intended to be—a handy way to express contempt. Aesthetic judgments are subjective, of course, but 'Democrat Party' is jarring verging on ugly. It fairly screams 'rat'.[11]

Pollster Frank Luntz tested the phrase with a focus group in 2001, and concluded that the only people who really disliked the epithet were highly partisan Democrats.[12] Political analyst Charlie Cook attributed modern use of the term to force of habit rather than a deliberate epithet by Republicans.[13] Journalist Ruth Marcus stated that Republicans likely only continue to employ the term because Democrats dislike it,[3] and Hertzberg calls use of the term "a minor irritation" and also "the partisan equivalent of flashing a gang sign".[11]

But when Hatch and other Republicans think they need to refer to foreign political parties, it makes you ask yourself: Why do they hate America?
