(61,675 posts)He's quite wealthy, I'm sure, after 20 years in that chair. I bet he's worth $150-200 million, if not more.

(19,549 posts)He wanted to tell him before he read about it in the media. Then he's off to do damage control with his other two children who live with their mother in the Hamptons.
It's a shame he wasn't worried about how they'd feel about all this before he started messing up.

(82,849 posts)I think it's wise for Lauer to just vanish. NBC wouldn't have fired him so precipitously if the evidence against him wasn't rock solid. In the current climate, there's no upside to saying anything. A defense of any kind isn't going to fly. An apology can't be abject enough to deflect justifiable public anger. Just vanish.

(28,969 posts)in another he went into his office with a woman, pulled down his pants exposing himself to her (she said she was shaken and just looked at him, at which point he berated her for NOT "performing a sexual act on him".
I'm guessing "blow jobs on demand" weren't part of her job description.
Do you BELIEVE this shit?.. It's ugly, stuff.

(51,308 posts)I heard the NYTimes has a story coming out. Whatever the initial report was, it must have been pretty bad for the network to act so quickly.

(2,176 posts)He asked her to come to his office to talk about a story. When she sat down he asked her to unbutton her shirt, which she did but was very uncomfortable about it. He then pushed a button on his disk that locked his doors, came around the desk, stood her up, pulled down her pants, bent her over his desk and raped her. She was in such shock that when he was done, she passed out and fell to the floor with her pants still down. He went and got his aide and told him to take her to the nurse. She never reported it, but I am sure they can confirm parts of this story. When he was confronted with this by the network he did not deny it. He should definitely be in jail as far as I am concerned.

(2,176 posts)NBC fired him for cause, so he won't be getting any of that cushy 20 million dollar contract.

(9,999 posts)having a pity party and being mad at God. After all, both are merely victims of women who didn't see their magnificence and drop to their knees to worship and service these great men. Why hasn't God protected them??

(90,740 posts)I'm not being facetious or trying to be mean. He strikes me as the type that would self-implode rather than face all the questions coming his way.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the next bit of news about him was that he has entered some sort of rehab.

(7,802 posts)I'm just glad he's gone. What was so special about him to be on TV for so long? He was boring and just awful.
