McAuliffe Considering Presidential Bid In 2020

November 30, 2017 at 9:45 am EST By Taegan Goddard

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) is “seriously” considering the 2020 presidential race, The Hill reports.

Said one McAuliffe friend: “He’s given me every indication that he’s taking it seriously. I don’t think he’s 100 percent decided that this is something he’s planning to do but it is something he’s seriously considering.”

He won’t win and the truth is that we need to have some new blood. A new generation and someone younger and not the “establishment”....

Compared to 2016, that's "new blood".

Its going to take someone who can argue back, deploy insults and sarcasm, skewer Trump with his own words, laugh in his face. And be charming while doing it.

I don't know McAuliffe well enough to know if he can do that, but if he can, I could give a flying fuck if he's "establishment".

I want that Fascist out of office.

I'd consider him, but of course, it is a long way until the primaries. We have plenty of time to see how everything sorts out.

I'd request that DUer's avoid bashing potential Democratic candidates. It should be possible for everyone to promote their favorites without resorting to the tearing down of other Democratic candidates.

He's an experienced politician and a proven winner in a purplish state. I'd certainly be open to hearing whatever he had to say during a primary campaign.

He has a platform and record around voter access that needs to be part of the discussion.

but I don't want to vote for you. Please don't screw up our Democratic party. I want to be excited about our nominee, but I don't think... Oh hell, go for it. I can always vote for someone else in the primary.
