Mercedes-Benz has a plant in Alabama. Here's their diversity statement.

Diversity is about who we are as individuals, and the contributions that each of us can make to our teams. At Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. we realize that we are more similar than different.

We recognize that our strength comes from dedication, experience, and diversity of our workforce and we believe that, given the opportunity, everyone can make a difference. MBUSI is committed to promoting and supporting an inclusive environment that provides to everyone, individually and collectively, the chance to work to their full potential in the pursuit of the Company's mission - to build the best premium vehicle in the world..

At MBUSI we are committed to treating every individual equally. We strive to endorse a work environment free from discrimination and harrassment against people on the grounds of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation or citizenship. These things are what set us apart, make us the leader in quality and will propel us to the heights of preferred employer for generations to come.

Do you think they are wondering about their choice to locate there now?

That is pure boiler plate. Could have come from any corporate HR department in the country.

Germany has laws that actually support unions. Alabama doesn't. MB is doing just fine.

consider. State Tax rebates for location, the County where this Plant landed has better Educated population as a whole of the State, plus Rail and Sea Port access fairly close And of course, cheap Labor and a Political environment that is pro Business and Anti Union. Knowing Benz, they tend to thin the herd in order to have a work force that can be upgraded via in house Education and Training.
