Add ND Heidi Heitkamp to that list. She's on the fence in her deep Red State.
A no vote means her job is on the line.

A yes means she may as well be a repub

They control most of govt & still can't get anything done. Also, not enough people are calling about this, like they did against cutting the ACA.

the bill still has to go through reconciliation (because it is so different from the House version) and then be approved by votes in both chambers. I don't expect that the House will reject the reconciliation bill, but there will be time to work on those wavering in the Senate.

the house might not be thrilled with the senate version, but they would find passing it as is would be vastly preferred over letting the whole thing collapse.

we have to convince senators before the pass any tax bill at all.

so they will make it past the last hurdle if it passes the senate.

This bill is obscene. No discussion, no one is talking about the stuff in it, like independent truck drivers will need to incorporate to deduct fuel costs, teachers lose their tax credit for out of pocket supplies expenditures, etc.

So, yes, PLEASE keep calling if you can!

And thank you for doing so.

Probably because they don't want people calling.
Same as the always full mailboxes of my congressperson.

I've called or emailed everyone on the list at least two times and plan for more. Look, the bill is probably going to pass but it ain't over till the fat lady sings. If nothing else, we'll let them know that they're not fooling us with their BS.

A sample of what I write ..

SENATE TAX CUT WILL INCREASE FEDERAL DEFICIT BY $1 TRILLION OVER A DECADE
“The congressional Joint Committee on Taxation said Wednesday afternoon that the Senate tax bill would add $1 trillion to federal budget deficits over the next decade, EVEN AFTER accounting for additional economic growth, a major blow to Republicans’ contention that the $1.5 trillion tax cuts in the bill will pay for themselves through growth.
The committee, which serves as the scorekeeper for growth and revenue estimates in tax bills, estimated that the Senate bill would boost economic growth by 0.8 percent over a decade. Republicans have said they expect substantially stronger growth than that to result from the tax cuts”.
All those years Republicans ranted about the deficit. Were you sincere or not? We'll find out.

Keep the message short and sweet, and focus on just one objectionable provision of the bill, whether it be grad students or Medicare or the deficit. Make that point strongly, and let someone else hit a different point.

Not that it will help. Nice young lady listened to my old lady speech quoting Rubio cutting Social Security and Medicare, that during my lifetime, corporate pensions are gone, our retirement savings keeps getting stolen on Wall St and now congress wants to give my earned SSI benefits to billionaires.
